		<description><![CDATA[I haven&#8217;t posted on here in almost a year.  A lot has happened in that amount of time.  Just after I got re-motivated to do the 5K, we put our house on the market.  A week later I found out I was pregnant again! 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I haven&#8217;t posted on here in almost a year.  A lot has happened in that amount of time.  Just after I got re-motivated to do the 5K, we put our house on the market.  A week later I found out I was pregnant again!</p>
<p>So we ended up selling our house, buying a new house in NC and we moved in May.  I just had baby girl #3 on October 26.  Due to crazy morning sickness, followed by back and belly pains throughout the last 3 months I just had no desire to exercise at all.</p>
<p>I am exactly one month post c-section now and I am chomping at the bit to get out and walk/run again.  There is a 5K in my neighborhood in March and I am seriously considering participating.  Which means I must start the C25K program ASAP!  I go back to the doctor in 2 weeks and I know I&#8217;ll get the greenlight to return to my normal activities.  Until then I am going to try to get back on a schedule and will work on my eating habits.</p>
<p>Then&#8230;.it&#8217;s back to Couch to 5K!  I doubt anyone reads this blog anymore but in the next few weeks I am going to revamp it and start posting links to it on Facebook and my other blog so hopefully I can build up a readership to motivate me!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So here is 2009.  The last time I posted on here was in August.  Yikes.  Four months of complete laziness on my part.  The weather really got to me at the end of the summer.  Then I let the stresses of life just take over my life.  Not gonna let that happen again. </p>
<p>I am miserable.  Sad that I let myself down by not completing the 5K.  Sad that I made all kinds of excuses for why I didn&#8217;t finish it .</p>
<p>But hopeful. </p>
<p>Going to get back to it.  This weekend we are heading to NC to visit my folks.  I already have plans to pack my mp3 player and my running shoes.  The first day back at it may not be pretty.  But I&#8217;m going to do it.  I WILL do it. </p>
<p>I am getting back in the game!!!!  5K here I COME!</p>

<p>So anyway, despite my slothfulness I managed to lose another 6 ounces this week so my grand total loss is now 16.8 pounds!  Every little bit gets me towards my goal! </p>
<p>I&#8217;ll post again this weekend.  Gonna get out and at least WALK even if I don&#8217;t &#8216;train&#8217; in the next couple days. </p>

		<description><![CDATA[Just wanted to say that I have reached my third goal of losing 15 pounds!  Actually, I am down 16.2 pounds now!  Woot Woot!  Only a couple more to reach my goal of 20 by my birthday (July 10)!  I&#8217;m off to run errands and hopefully take the girls to the pool later!<img alt="" border="0" src="http://stats.wordpress.com/b.gif?host=my5k.wordpress.com&amp;blog=3689412&amp;post=24&amp;subd=my5k&amp;ref=&amp;feed=1" width="1" height="1" />]]></description>

<p><a href="http://eatingandrunning.blogspot.com/">The Running Chef</a>:  Nicole is a student, runner and a wanna-be baker/chef with a fondness for cupcakes!   She is a brand new blogger (welcome to the blogging world, Nicole!) and is doing a really neat thing on her blog&#8211;she is taking a &#8216;running trip&#8217; around France.  She is logging her miles as if she is really running from city to city in France!  That&#8217;s a cool idea and I think I may try that on my blog sometime.  I&#8217;d like to run around India though because I absolutely love that country!</p>

<p>So today I tried to go out and run my second day of Week Three.  Allergies+a head cold+the heat=a bad day running!  I didn&#8217;t do very well at all.  My mind really wasn&#8217;t in to it and was all over the place and I just couldn&#8217;t get into it today.  I think I was just too tired.  We spent about 2 hours at the pool today and I guess I just tired myself out.  I got a lot of cardio in today though!  I&#8217;m off to go take a nice jacuzzi bath tonight! </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today I started week three.  It was a little intimidating.  The program for week three is:</p>
<p>Walk 5 minutes.  Run 1 1/2 minutes.  Walk 1 1/2 minutes.  Run 3 minutes.  Walk 3 minutes.  Then repeat the running sequence. </p>
<p>I wasn&#8217;t sure if I&#8217;d be able to survive 3 minutes of running straight.  The first run was easy.  Wow.  Did I say that?  It was <em>easy</em>.  Then came the 3 minute run.  I made it for about what I think was 2 minutes.  Then I stopped the mp3 player.  Stretched a little and caught my breath for about 15-20 seconds then completed the 3 minute run. </p>
<p>The next 1 1/2 minute run wasn&#8217;t so bad.  I had to stop half way through the second 3 minute run and then I didn&#8217;t quite finish it&#8211;but I was close. </p>
<p>So it really wasn&#8217;t too terribly bad.  I am planning that I&#8217;ll be repeating this week at least once, maybe twice.  I kept telling myself to remember how hard that first week was.  How I thought I was going to die!  How I thought I&#8217;d never make it to week two.  I know I can do this!  It is going to be hard, but I can do it.</p>
<p>I am enjoying it which is huge for me!  I have never really enjoyed exercise.  I love getting out in the sun all alone with just my music and just taking off.  It&#8217;s kind of like therapy.  It allows me to clear my mind and focus on being healthy and all that jazz.     </p>
<p>Anyway . . . on the weight loss issue.  I gained a few ounces this week.  I figure it was one to many cheese biscuits at my mom and dad&#8217;s house this weekend and one too many peanut butter m&amp;ms at the movies (we saw Kung Fu Panda&#8211;so cute!).  But it&#8217;ll come back off.  I am confident of that.   For once in my life I am confident that I WILL lose this weight and KEEP IT OFF this time!!!!    </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Well I did day three today.  I am currently in NC at my parents home.  I was pretty excited to be able to run on flat land for a change.  There isn&#8217;t so much as a hill around here for miles and miles and miles!  It seemed to be a little easier even though it was already really hot at 8:00 a.m.!  I had to walk a little longer before my second to last run&#8211;which seems to be the norm for the last week.  But I was able to finish all the runs and only bailed out on the last one about 3 seconds early! </p>
<p>So I am going to do Week Two one more time on Sunday and then it&#8217;s off to Week Three!  I really have to watch what I eat this weekend.  I always seem to eat a little more (and a little more unhealthy) when I&#8217;m at my mom and dad&#8217;s!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>My back hurts.  I don&#8217;t know if I have just been overdoing it or what but it hurts. </p>
<p>I had a pretty good day today.  I was able to make it through almost all of my runs.  I missed out on the last 5-10 seconds of the last 2 runs.  I would&#8217;ve kept going on the last one but there were these hooligans (where exactly did that word come from anyway?  It&#8217;s kind of like shenanigans.  I like those words.) walking in front of me and I didn&#8217;t want to run off the path to get around them and then start walking again just a few feet down the path.  So I quit a little early.  And man the park was &#8216;jacked up&#8217; tonight (as Annagrace would say.  That&#8217;s her new favorite phrase!).  3 simultaneous Little League games, a reunion of some kind at the picnic shelters, kids on the playground, people walking.  Tons of people everywhere. </p>
<p>So I have to confess that I am really starting to like running.  I miss it on the days I don&#8217;t go.  It&#8217;s like therapy time for me.  I put on my mp3 player, crank it up loud and just get out there in my own little world.  I look forward to that time alone for 40 minutes to just think about nothing but getting through the next run.  It&#8217;s really great stress relief!  </p>
<p>I was thinking today about the difference in &#8216;jogging&#8217; and &#8216;running&#8217;.  I have read somewhere recently where a wise old man (or maybe a young man, I just know it was a man) said that the only difference in a jogger and a runner was an entry form.  When you read the definition for running, it is defined as: a pace that is faster than walking.  So that being said, I guess I can honestly say &#8221;I am a runner.&#8221;  When I go out to train I often say I am going out for my run.  I don&#8217;t think of it as jogging.  I don&#8217;t know why.  Isn&#8217;t that weird?  Maybe because saying &#8220;I&#8217;m a runner&#8221; is cooler than saying &#8220;I&#8217;m a jogger.&#8221;</p>
<p>And I have good news.  I&#8217;m down another pound!  Actually, a little more than a pound.  I am down a total now of 13 pounds!  Woot woot!  That is the equivalent of the skin of 2 human beings.  (Just a little useless trivia for you.  Yes, your skin weighs about 6 pounds!)  I was complaining again today about my pants falling off.  Aaron said, &#8220;why don&#8217;t you put on a belt?&#8221;  Hmmmm . . . where have I heard that advice before?!  Well all the capris I have look stupid with a belt.  So I am retiring the really too big, falling-down-annoying-me-pants and will hang on to the few that fit and in another month or so I&#8217;ll buy a couple new pairs! (And those clothes are going to be do GONE from this house.  I do not want to keep them because I have no intentions of fitting in them again!)</p>

<p>I went out for Week Two: Day One on Wednesday and then did Day Two today.  I made it through all but the last run&#8211;only made it through about half of that one.  And I took a break and sat down on the bench for a couple minutes before the second to last run!  The pollen seems to have settled down so my allergies are not bothering me as bad now.  (I don&#8217;t have to stop and blow my nose anymore!).  </p>
<p>So all in all, it IS getting easier.  It still seems like a long time before I&#8217;ll be able to run 30 minutes continuously.  But I&#8217;m just taking it day by day and week by week!</p>
<p>As far as my weight loss, well . . . I weighed in Wednesday and was exactly&#8211;I mean <em>to the ounce</em>&#8211;that I was last week.  But I weighed in again today and was down another 8/10 of a pound!  So my grand total so far is 11.4 pounds.  I can wear a size smaller now (I tried on some clothes today at Fashion Bug!) although I can&#8217;t bring myself to invest in any new clothes because by the end of the summer they will be too big too!  I&#8217;ll just keep hiking up my pants until they completely fall off of me!  Annagrace told me yesterday, &#8220;Mom, haven&#8217;t you ever heard of a belt?&#8221; </p>
